Welcome to St. Peter

Whether you are new to faith or looking for a new church home, St. Peter Lutheran Church in Schaumburg is a place where you and your family are genuinely welcome. We are a multigenerational community rooted in God’s Word, gathering each Sunday to worship, learn, and encourage one another. Whatever brings you through our doors, we are glad you are here.

What are services like?
We offer three different worship styles (four services total) that last about an hour and include music, prayer, Scripture readings, and a message from one of our pastors.

Our Saturday service features traditional liturgy paired with contemporary music. On Sundays, our 7:45 and 9 AM services are our most traditional services, following the historic Lutheran order of service and featuring beloved hymns. Our 11 AM service offers contemporary worship with modern music and a more relaxed atmosphere.
What should I wear?
You are welcome to dress however you are most comfortable. Our Saturday evening and 11 AM services tend to be more casual, but you are invited to simply come as you are.
What do you offer for children?
At St. Peter, worship is a family experience—and that includes your children. If your little one needs a little more space to stretch and wiggle, we have a staffed nursery located right next to the sanctuary for children 4 years old and younger.

Every Sunday during the school year we offer Sunday School at 10:10 AM for children ages 3 through 5th grade. Check out our Youth & Family Ministry page to discover more.

A St. Peter education is more than academic preparation. It’s formation for life. For nearly 180 years, we have been nurturing children spiritually, intellectually, and personally in the heart of Schaumburg. Our pre-K through 8th grade program combines rigorous, standards-based academics with Christ-centered faith formation, giving every child the foundation to thrive in high school and beyond. Small class sizes mean every student is known by name—by their teachers, their pastor, and their community.
