Welcome to St. Peter

WHAT TO EXPECT YOUR FIRST TIME

Let us answer your questions.

Knowing what to expect before you arrive can make all the difference. We’ve answered some frequently asked questions to help you get to know us. We can’t wait to see you this weekend!

Where are you located?
St. Peter is located in the heart of historic Schaumburg:

202 E. Schaumburg Road
Schaumburg, IL 60194
What times are your services?
Our worship services are Saturdays at 5 PM and Sundays at 7:45, 9:00, and 11:00 AM.
What should I wear?
At all services you are welcome to dress however you are most comfortable. At our Saturday evening and 11 AM services, you will see a more relaxed dress but again dress as you wish. God loves you the way you are!
What are services like?
We offer three different worship styles (four services total) that last about an hour and include music, prayer, Scripture readings, and a message from one of our pastors.

Our Saturday service features traditional liturgy paired with contemporary music. On Sundays, our 7:45 and 9 AM services are our most traditional services, following the historic Lutheran order of service and featuring beloved hymns. Our 11 AM service offers contemporary worship with modern music and a more relaxed atmosphere.
What do you offer for children?
At St. Peter, worship is a family experience—and that includes your children. If your little one needs a little more space to stretch and wiggle, we have a staffed nursery located right next to the sanctuary for children 4 years old and younger.

Every Sunday during the school year we offer Sunday School at 10:10 AM for children ages 3 through 5th grade. Check out our Youth & Family Ministry page to discover more.
How do I become a member?
Membership at St. Peter is never a requirement. You are welcome to worship, serve, and belong here long before you ever make it official. When you're ready to take that step, our Basic Teachings Class is the path to membership. It's a single session offered quarterly that introduces the Christian faith, the Lutheran tradition, and what makes St. Peter the community it is.

OUR MINISTRIES

Find where you belong.

At St. Peter, faith is a journey we walk together as we gather in worship, grow as disciples, and serve our neighbors in Jesus’ name. Wherever you are in that journey, there is a place for you here.

OUR MISSION

Loving people. Serving the World.

At St. Peter we are worshiping together as we give thanks to our God of grace. At St. Peter we are growing together as a church family while we grow together as followers of Jesus in and through God’s Word. At St. Peter we are serving together in light of God’s grace through acts of service in the world.
